Not all ads are good. Some are just plain confusing like the Lovell Beer Ads. In fact, most ads aren't even memorable. And then, you get some that are memorable, but for the wrong reason. Such as, they don't make any sense at all.
Here, take this Samsung ad for example:
For those who can't read the text, it says "Even a Weather Forecast looks like a work of art". What is that what kind of weather forecaster dresses like that? Why does it look like she's twirling strings of light? I wouldn't even know this was for a TV unless I saw the picture on the bottom right hand corner.
Sony has been known to do some rather strange ads. But this one for the PSP still doesn't make sense to me:
If someone wants to interpret this for me, by all means, do so.
And then from PETA, I just ended up staring for a good minute before realizing this wasn't an ad for pornography.
Who still rides horse carriages in this day and age anyways?
lol horse carriages arnt cruel...they horses are exercising!
ReplyDeleteHorse carriages aren't cruel. You can't keep humans in bed all day either, now can you?
ReplyDeleteAlso, the Sony one is very interesting. Typography could've been a bit better, but looks very interesting nonetheless.
I never see horse carriages around my area, but I do wish I was that horse atm haha
ReplyDeleteim on a horse carriage right now. giddee-up
ReplyDeletewe have horse drawn carriages in louisville, lots of people use them for weddings and tours of the city, then if you go out a bit you see the amish using them.

White bits... I'm not sure... The more I try to make sense of it, the less sense it makes...
ReplyDeleteThe Sony one is weird, any explanation yet?
ReplyDeleteThat's nice of Sony. They're assuming I have a girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteHaha, so true. Great blog...just started following!
ReplyDeleteI've never understood the white bits either
ReplyDeleteI dont get the white bits thing.
ReplyDeletelol i honestly dont have a clue what that PSP ad in the second picture is supposed to mean. and that says something i work in marketing lol
ReplyDeletePETA: HEY LOOK! NAKED WOMEN! WANNA JOIN US? Their "ad campaigns" are really awful and condescending I think. HURR BEER IS BETTER THAN MILK! FRAT GUYS YOU WANNA BE IN PETA NOW RIGHT?!
ReplyDeleteHaha, those were indeed confusing and pretty stupid!
ReplyDeletenice one dude!
ReplyDeletehahaha! those ads are soo misleading. So sad some artists are paid so much money and do crappy jobs because they think it's "art"
ReplyDeleteHorse carriages are popular in any actual city where they were ever popular. Tourists love that shit.
ReplyDeleteI honestly cant think of anything else the PSP ad could be referring to...
ReplyDeletecan't understand any of these...
ReplyDeletegreat if you dont even get the ad, how shall you remember the product
ReplyDeleteIf someone wants to interpret this for me, by all means, do so.
ReplyDeletewell - lets say you have a gf and she gets run over by a train b/c falling in the tracks and then her remains or "bits" will be plastered on the ad, thus making it make sense
This is ridiculously confusing >_< What a joke ad!
ReplyDeleteIt amazes me how some people hold a job in advertising
ReplyDeleteYeah, what the heck are "white bits"...that is going to stick with me for a while. I'm thinking that was what they were going for too...
ReplyDeletelol awful ads
ReplyDeleteThis is great!
ReplyDeleteI like the 1st one, whatever it means.
ReplyDeleteJust when you finally think you can't hate PETA any more than you already do... they somehow prove you wrong...
ReplyDeleteYou can ride Horse drawn carriages in New York city. Ride around Central Park and Stuff for a price.
ReplyDeletegod knows on the white bits add...and as for the girl on the horse - I just want to go riding with her lol
ReplyDeleteIt's PETA, it doesn't have to make sense.
