Here's an Ad sponsored by the Tax Cannabis party in favor of passing Prop 19, which if passed in the state of California will tax and regulate Marijuana much like Tobacco and Alcohol.
awesome, i hope this passes, itd be a big step forward. anywho, it ought to so long as everyone who supports it votes. voting day would be the day not to smoke lol
While this makes a very interesting point concerning regulation (and also the implied taxation); I'm still not 100% on how it will be received by the general public and am curious to see.
I mean think about it when they banned alcohol organized crime ran rampant. If they were to regulate and legalize marijuana the crime involve would not be profitable, and people would stop smuggling marijuana into the states to illegally sell it and the funds go to the country that smuggled it here. If we were growing distributing and regulating our own production of marijuana it would be a great way to increase revenue in that state, get rid of the crime involved with the drug. Kill two birds with one stone.
Jujubeau said pretty much everything I would say, and I would also have pointed out what David Davidson did about the plant itself being incredibly useful. I hope this passes and spreads like medical cannabis did. I see the legalization or federal decriminalization of the Cannabis genus as a HUGE step in the direction of abundance and personal freedoms.
If that passes I'm going to be kind of... not upset... but disappointed.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this will pass?

ReplyDeleteI bet it'll pass. And it's about time too. The benefits of weed (well, the actual plant itself) are amazing.
ReplyDeleteIf it passes it will be a step in the right direction.
