The ads came courtesy of the Centre for Inquiry Canada, a skeptic organization that has sponsored similar advertisements across the country since 2009. They read, "There's probably no god. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life." The campaign debuted in B.C. last week on buses in Kamloops and Kelowna – prompting a boycott from a small number of drivers in both communities on religious grounds.
What do you readers think about this?
I want to say that it's no big deal and that they should just do their jobs, but if I was asked to drive a bus with pro-religious advertisements, I probably wouldn't either.
ReplyDeleteI think the fact that it affects them so much says something about their beliefs. Whether it's negative or not depends on your point of view. If you believe, an advertisement saying otherwise shouldn't be a big deal.
ReplyDeletethe message is a bit confrontational as well.
ReplyDeleteWell the word "probably" is there.... So that's like I don't know like a half. But I can see why some people would refuse to not drive buses if it goes against their personal beliefs.
ReplyDeleteThe bus company should know better.

ReplyDeleteI can see their point, but come on, freedom of speech, anyone?
ReplyDeletefreedom of speech doesnt apply, theyre canadians
ReplyDeletedont get the point of this
ReplyDeleteIf they don't want to do their job they should be suspended without pay until they're willing to do so.
ReplyDeleteIf it were a sign promoting another minority group and someone did that they would be accused of bigotry.
well, I hate the fucking mormon ads I see on my YOUTUBE
ReplyDeleteI really don't like seeing religious or political messages on public buildings or buses, etc. Even if its stuff I agree with.
