While donating to charities definitely is a good thing, and I would never discourage it, but it unfortunately doesn't get to the root of the problem. Industrial-size solar stills could be created with minimal effort that would turn the dirtiest water, and even the water of the oceans, into pure drinking water with no need for any energy-input except the already abundant solar-rays.
I remember going out during Halloween with my little orange box asking for loose change with that awkward little smile as they went back into their house, pissed off I didn't want any teeth rotting, sugar infested treats. Thanks for bringing back good times, I'll be sure to donate once more!
